DIFFERENT KIND OF STREETS

(Dylan & Rose blouse, Gap jean jacket - similar, Rich & Skinny denim, bag from local consignment boutique, Steve Madden wedges - similar, JewelMint rose gold ring, other gifted ring)

Yesterday, I got to venture away from the office into Soho for bit. It was nice being in a different part of town, but even nicer to actually be away from the office for lunch. Sometimes I get way too glued to my chair at work. It can be a problem. Side note: I just realized lately how extremely long my hair has gotten. Not so sure if it should be cut, or if I am into it. What do you think?

Hey, guess what? It's finally a post from where I actually live.. New York City. Photos from my weekends spent outside the city have overtaken my blog, but I promise that my city of residence will be showing up more.

Can't wait to get on the bus to head back to Maryland tonight. Praying the ride flies by!

ON THE COURT

(gifted dress, Gap jacket- similar, Converse shoes, vintage turquoise ring, other ring from random boutique, thrifted bracelets, random sunglasses)

These photos were taken at a park in State College this past weekend. Kinda wish I had a basketball with me so I could see if the skill I had in high school was still there. Not so sure how that would have gone down with a dress on, though. The weather was beautiful, and I was able to let my legs go without tights finally (but unfortunately exposing my whiteness). I also love the fact that my denim jacket is back in my life. Too bad the rain decided to come back here in the city today, and I am pretty sure it's here to stay for the week. Hoping for nice, beautiful weather again soon.

MILITARY DETAILS

(Jason Wu for Target blouse, I 'Heart' Ronson top, necklace from Rugged Wearhouse, Gap jeans, G by Guess oxfords, vintage rings)

I have never been one to spend hours on my hair in the morning, so I am taking small steps to add something extra to my regular (mostly boring) styles. As you can see, I added a little braid around today's top knot. This was a small attempt to stop being lazy with my hair. My one wish in life: to have a personal hairstylist when I wake up every day. If only my wish could actually come true..

P.S. - What happened to the warm weather, New York?

LANCASTER PHOTO DIARY

So, here are the first of my many adventures during my time in Pennsylvania. On Saturday, my mom and I explored the downtown area of Lancaster. I must say that I loved it! It was very artsy, with lots of great things to do and shops to see. The first thing on our list was to check out the Central Market. Apparently it's the country's oldest farmer's market. I loved the busyness inside and seeing the locals who shopped there. It reminded me a bit of Reading Terminal in Philly, but it definitely was not as big. My mom got me some loose chai tea that I am very excited about trying! Of course I had to grab a mean cup of coffee on the way out too. While we walked around the city, we checked out this one place called Building Character. It was a huge warehouse full of different vendors. Lots of creative things inside and even great vintage stuff. I never would have thought Lancaster would have such awesome places. Ah, so much more to share with you still!

And... look what we had to end our afternoon! We found this amazing little crepe place, Rachel's Cafe & Creperie. It was as if I was back in Paris. The last photo is the crepe my mom had, a fruit cheesecake one. I, of course, stuck with the classic nutella and banana. I will definitely be going back to this place!

LIGHTS ALONG THE CREEK

(t-shirt and pants from Gap- similar, knit hat from South Moon Under, Steve Madden fringe bag- similar, classic Converse All Stars, Michael Kors rose gold watch, random and vintage jewelry)

So today I FINALLY felt a little better after having strep throat since Tuesday night. I never realized how bad strep throat was-- I literally felt like I was slowly dying. Thank goodness for doctors and antibiotics! This afternoon, my mom and I walked around downtown Frederick and along Carroll Creek. This is probably one of my favorite spots. Especially during the holidays because of the pretty lights. Oh, and check out that gorgeous sky!!

Tomorrow is New Year's Eve, which means it is almost 2012! Cannot believe it, but I am very excited for this new year. I am also excited to not be working tomorrow! Time to write down my New Year's resolutions and find out what will be in store for me.
