HELLO NEW YORK

(Dolce Vita jacket, Old Navy sweater- similar, Mimi Chica dress, Hue tights, Steve Madden bag- similar, shoes from Marshalls, Michael Kors watch, other thrifted jewelry)

This weekend has been full of mixed emotions. Happy, excited, sad, overwhelmed.. they have all taken over me. My parents drove me up yesterday to begin my new life here in New York, and they left this afternoon (some tears may have been shed). We spent the morning having coffee in Brooklyn, and I showed them around Union Square because my work is right in that area. This week will be a bit crazy getting all adjusted to everything here. You would think after my many visits to New York, it would be a little easier. It's just not the same. This time I do not have a return trip booked.

My first day of the new job is tomorrow. Wish me luck!

MISMATCHED

(Free People top, Old Navy button up, Nasty Gal suede chap leggings- similar, Nine & Co. boots - similarMichael Kors watch, gifted rings, thrifted bracelets)

My Saturday was spent with Brianna at my favorite restaurant in the whole world, Main Cup. We enjoyed delicious bourbon pecan coffee (yum!) along with brunch. I have had this FP top since December and could never figure out something to pair it with. This happens a lot with purchases- they just sit in my closet with their tags on for awhile. And, I hate when that happens. I finally threw it over a plaid shirt and thought it could work. Not so sure how I feel about it fully yet, but it was something different and unexpected.

Now, I am off to enjoy my Sunday with family. Hope you all have a wonderful day!

FLOOR LENGTH

This past Wednesday was the IFB Conference at Milk Studios here in the city! It was a great opportunity to meet new people and gain amazing advice from different panels of top bloggers and writers. Stay tuned for a lot of changes that will be happening right here on the blog! I opted for a more casual outfit for the day in order to be comfortable for the 830am- 5pm conference. I will be posting some more about the day, including my favorite panelists and new bloggers I had the honor of meeting. In other news, I am off to Bloggers Night Out tonight. So excited!

BELATED BIRTHDAY POST

(wearing: H&M sweater, Old Navy plaid shirt- similar, velvet pants from Nasty Gal- similar, G by Guess oxfords, Michael Kors watch, vintage necklace, other random and thrifted jewelry)

Here are some random shots from my birthday last Sunday. My first legal drink was a mimosa during a delicious brunch with my family and best friend Marcy. It was also snowing on my birthday! So perfect, right? My friend Brianna gave me the cutest card, ever. She knows me too well. Anything with the Eiffel Tower I am sure to love! The necklace I wore is my new favorite addition to my jewelry collection. I picked up at an antique store in Lancaster for only $10!

Hope you all had a fabulous weekend. And, don't forget about my giveaway!!

A B&B, SUNSHINE, AND CECIL

(3.1 Philip Lim top, Old Navy pants, G by Guess oxfords, gifted striped ring, bracelet from Etsy, other thrifted jewelry)

Here are some photos taken outside of the Amethyst Inn. It was a very sunny morning, hence my squinty eyes. Also, can you tell my mom was being a bit creative? Pretty soon she will be a pro photographer.. haha. As I said before, I loved this little B&B! Oh, and the owner's shaggy dog Cecil. He was one of the biggest dogs I have ever seen, but look at how cute he is! Of course my mom was crazy about him. I'm just waiting for her to get me a dog. But, a little puppy that never grows! Maybe one will appear on my birthday that is this Sunday (wishful thinking). We spent our day mapping out the best antique malls and thrift stores in the Lancaster area. It was a great time, as you can see here.

A DIFFERENT KIND OF STAY

(BCBG cardigan- similar, Old Navy top, Charlotte Russe black jeans, Nine West boots- similar, Michael Kors watch, necklace from Rugged Warehouse, gifted striped ring, other random jewelry)

During our second night in PA, we opted for a bed and breakfast. The Amethyst Inn to be exact. It was my first time ever staying in a B&B, and I must say I am officially hooked! So perfect. As you can see, the owners did an amazing job at decorating the house. They had little treats waiting for us and hot drinks whenever we wanted. Of course I chose coffee.. Green Mountain coffee. Yum! It was so relaxing to just sit by the fireplace with my cup of joe. The bed and breakfast was located right outside of Lancaster, in Adamstown.. Antique Capital, USA!! I was in heaven. Wait til you see even more photos come up on the blog!

P.S. - Here are some snapshots of the DELICIOUS breakfast we enjoyed in the morning. Broiled grapefruit, croissants, cinnamon rolls, granola cereal, and this brie cheese/veggie casserole. The owner was a great host, server, and even jokester.. ha. Thank goodness we did not have a boring host. I really enjoyed my time there, and I was even a little sad when we left.
