So today I FINALLY felt a little better after having strep throat since Tuesday night. I never realized how bad strep throat was-- I literally felt like I was slowly dying. Thank goodness for doctors and antibiotics! This afternoon, my mom and I walked around downtown Frederick and along Carroll Creek. This is probably one of my favorite spots. Especially during the holidays because of the pretty lights. Oh, and check out that gorgeous sky!!

Tomorrow is New Year's Eve, which means it is almost 2012! Cannot believe it, but I am very excited for this new year. I am also excited to not be working tomorrow! Time to write down my New Year's resolutions and find out what will be in store for me.

POLKA DOTTED BARN

Finally was able to go check out this barn-turned-store in Lucketts, Virginia. I shopped at some others in the town a few weeks ago. You can see my posts here and here. How amazing is this place? It's even better inside! I snapped lots and lots of photos that I will post here soon. Full of holiday and design inspiration. Another local shop was having a holiday event, and I cannot wait to share with you everything that was going on there! It was a well spent Saturday and a much needed break from the busyness finals are bringing. 

P.S. - All my crazy hair color is fading into bleach. Uh oh. What should I do to it next?!

A LOOK BACK IN HISTORY

Got a history lesson by visiting Mount Vernon, George Washington's Estate and Gardens. Spent the day reuniting with my two of my favorite girls. The three of us were last together in Paris -- oh, those were the good days. It was such a gorgeous day! Perfect for walking around and seeing the beauty of creation. Well, other than that crazy earthquake that hit. CNN was filming a series about the richest presidents, and they got the entire mansion shaking on camera. Crazy! Praying that everyone will stay safe this weekend since apparently there is a hurricane coming.

STEP OUTSIDE, GET SOME AIR

Here is one of my favorite places by my house -- Harpers Ferry, West Virginia. My friend and I walked around the small town, enjoyed the view of the river, and then got caught in a huge rain storm. It was a good afternoon.

Sometimes, you need to step outside, get some air, and remind yourself of who you are and who you want to be.
