OUT OF FOCUS

Are you looking for answers to questions under the stars? Well, if along the way you are grown weary, you can rest with me until a brighter day and you're okay. (Listen: Dave Matthews Band - Where Are You Going?)

Just some out of focus photos and good music for your Monday night.

TODAY'S QUOTE

“To those who stay put, the world is but an imaginary place. But to the movers, the makers, and the shakers, the world is all around, an endless invitation.”

Ever have those type of days where you spend too much time thinking about life, whether it be the past, present, or future? Today was that day for me. Most of my 'thinking' is spent on my daily subway rides to and from home in Brooklyn. I don't know about you, but a lot of my time is spent worrying. Worrying about growing up and establishing myself, about how to budget so I don't have to eat ramen every day, and about losing connection with close family or friends. I try to live by that one saying 'don't worry be happy,' but sometimes it can be hard. Behind all the worry that clogs my mind, I do know that there is happiness though. I am so thankful that I had the ability to pack up and move to New York, with nothing or no one holding me back. I've always been one to take risks. I am told that my twenties is the time to explore new things, travel the world, find out who I am and what I want, and just enjoy life to the fullest. And, I am glad that's exactly how I'm spending these years. I will be able to come back and read this ten years from now and know that I was enjoying life the way it's meant to be enjoyed.

P.S. - Picked up these pretty flowers over the weekend and created vases out of wine bottles. They are now the centerpiece on the coffee table. Love the extra happiness they add my day!

CITY INSPIRATION

This is a photo I snapped at Washington Square Park last Monday after my first day of work. Simply just went there to clear my head and take in this new life I just started. I have been lacking inspiration lately, especially here on the blog. Now that I am living in New York City, there will be inspiration all around me. I really want to provide good content for you all, but I must remember that the content should always (no matter what) represent who I am and what I enjoy in life. As I transition into this new chapter of my life, my blog will do just
the same. Just bear with me.

Sometimes in life, you just have to close your eyes and jump. Never leave a stone unturned and never abandon opportunities.

CITY LIGHTS

“To those who stay put, the world is but an imaginary place. But to the movers, the makers, and the shakers, the world is all around, an endless invitation.”

I spent the other night overlooking Baltimore city from Fed Hill Park. There's something about a city at night that I absolutely
love. Nothing else compares.

SUNDAY QUOTE

As always, my mom left me another gift on my bed last night. This time it was a great quote that I can hang in my room. It was such a perfect day for a gift like this. I spent my morning avoiding school work in order for some time to just think. It was GORGEOUS weather, so I enjoyed just walking around downtown. Of course I had to do some shopping too. (I'll share my findings with you soon!) I think I am a little fearful.. fearful of the future and the unknown. These next few months are going to go by so fast and then I am stuck with decisions and discovering my "purpose in life." It's exciting, but scary at the same time. I wish I had more times like yesterday to just block out the busyness of life and try to find some clarity.

Happy Sunday!

FOUR THINGS

1. Motivation.
2. What my morning consists of every day -- coffee made only the right way.
3. Classic black lace.
3. Edamame and squid salad.. mmm.

Today we finally got much needed rain. I spent the rainy day the typical way.. being lazy.

RISK TAKER

(H&M top, thrifted palazzo pants, Charlotte Russe heels, gifted watch and ring, handmade friendship bracelet, all other
vintage jewelry)

Here is a quote my pastor read this morning that I was so excited to share with all of you:

We must be willing to risk. To laugh is to risk appearing the fool. To weep is to risk appearing sentimental. To reach out for another is to risk involvement. To expose feelings is to risk exposing your true self. To place your ideas and dreams before a crowd is to risk their loss. To love is to risk being loved in return. To live is to risk dying. To hope is to risk despair. To try is to risk failure. But risks must be taken, because the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing.

TODAY'S QUOTE

(image via studs and pearls)

Sometimes it's just good to be reminded. Patiently waiting for August to come when I fly back home to Maryland, see my family, and enjoy the rest of my summer.
