FLARES FOR THE DAY

(jacket from Wet Seal, Trouvé white tshirt, Ali & Kris kimona, Jessica Simpson jeans, bag from local consignment store, gifted rings)

So glad to finally have the weekend here, after an incredibly busy week. I'm currently listening to Taylor Swift's new album (don't judge), and I am thinking a french press of coffee should happen in the near future. These photos were taken the other day when I decided to break out some flares for the day. I surprise myself every time I put a pair on and love them. I especially love a good black pair!

Well, here's to a good (and hopefully productive) Saturday!

HOME SWEET HOME

Here are just a few shots from when I was home in Maryland this past weekend. My parents persuaded me to stay Sunday night and take a 5:30 AM bus back to the city. Let's just say that was a bad idea. I did not make it to the office until noon. It was pure craziness. However, I was blessed to finally make it back there to visit. Got to enjoy some of my dad's homemade soup, do a little baking, and see all the new things my mom has added to our house (there's always something new). I miss my parents more than they probably think I do. Can't wait to be back there for Christmas! There's just something about home.

SNAPSHOTS

This is how I spent my week away from the city and away from Hurricane Sandy. Lots of country roads and good cooking. I was relieved, however, to finally make it back into my apartment and get back to the routine of things.

Everyone who has been affected by the hurricane are still in my prayers. The storm caused a lot of devastation in the city and outside the city. My heart goes out to those who are still dealing with the aftermath.

THE CAMOFLAUGE JACKET

(jacket from antique mall, thirifted sweater, skirt from Urban Outiftters, Hue tights, G by Guess oxfrods, Michael Kors watch, gifted rings)

I apologize for my lack of updating lately. But, hey, take a look at this camo jacket I picked up at an antique mall during my stay in Pennsylvania. For $5! I am currently in Maryland having a quick visit with my family. It's been ahwile since I have made the trip back here, so I am enjoying the time with my parents. The two days always go by entiretly too fast.

P.S. - Yes, you see correctly. I chopped off my hair donated to Locks of Love yesterday morning! I haven't had my hair short in about 3 years, so it will take some getting used to. All in all, I was very excited about it!

THE BEAUTY OF FALL

(vintage sweater, Charlotte Russe jeans, Michael Kors watch, INC International boots)

Well, I am still in Pennsylvania. Hurricane Sandy has been one heck of a storm. Each time I watch the news, I cannot believe the damage it has done. All of the people affected are in my prayers! It looks like I won't be making it back to the city until the weekend, and I am hoping that my apartment is still intact. At least here I have electricity and internet. I am also not complaining that I get to see Zachary every day. It's definitely been an interesting week so far, being away from my apartment and the office for more than just a few days.

These photos were taken in the very small town of Warren. Although it's been quite rainy and cold here, I have loved seeing the beauty of fall. My plan for the weekend: convince Zach to take me camping! It won't take much convincing though, since it's his favorite thing to do.

TAKING ME BACK

(thrifted sweater, Charlotte Russe jeans (old), N.Y.L.A shoes)

Here's a look at how I spent my Friday afternoon in Pennsylvania. Zachary surprised me with a visit to the park where we had our first date/camping trip. See my old post here. I loved being back there and seeing it in the fall! It was perfect day for an oversized sweater and jeans. I've thoroughly enjoyed being away from the city and back in nature again.

P.S. - It is Monday, and I am still here in PA because of this hurricane craziness! I chose not to take my bus back to the city last night since they were shutting down all the transportation in NYC. And, I am pretty glad I didn't. Thank goodness for Zach's laptop, being able to work from here, and that I brought pumpkin spice Baltimore Coffee with me!

Praying that everyone stays safe and this hurricane isn't as bad as they are saying it will be!
