HIGH SCHOOL FLASHBACK

(gifted dress, thrifted, J Crew denim button-up, Hue tights, vintage boots, Steve Madden bag- similar, gifted ring, all vintage bracelets)

Today was the beginning of my weekend. Tomorrow I am off work, and I am so excited for a three day weekend! Opted for something a little causal for this Thursday. And, a little hair cuff for my ponytail. When is the last time I wore a ponytail? Trying to figure out the answer to this. I may or may not look like I belong back in my high school days. Oh, and I need all these in my life.

BUTTONED UP

(Collective Concepts dress, Hue tights, Nine West boots- similar, Danielle Nicole bag, Michael Kors watch, all vintage jewelry)

I got this dress last summer when I was interning for Nordstrom in Dallas, but have only worn it a few times. It's one of those simple and easy dresses you don't have to add anything to. Decided to throw it on this morning with some tights and boots (since the weather has decided to turn into winter again). Surprised that it has not shown up on the blog sooner. Oh, and I thought I had lost this bag somewhere in between my travels last fall. Found it when I went back home and was so excited! It's one of my favorite bags. Love the Missoni-inspired chevron print.

SPRING IS COMING

(vintage blazer, thrifted dress, Hue tights, vintage boots, Steve Madden bag- similar, cuff from antique market)

Spring has possibly arrived in the city. People are breaking out the open-toe shoes and rocking bare legs. As you can see, I have not jumped on that yet. Since I am currently apartment searching, my whole wardrobe is not here with me. And, yes, it stinks. My options are to either go back home and pick up some of my spring clothes or just go shopping for some new things. Hmm.. tough decision, right? Option one is definitely the wiser option, but I also can never say no to shopping! Gonna try and stick it out until I go see my family for Easter though. We'll see how well that goes. Until then, I am gonna work with what I've got!

Hope you all had a fabulous Tuesday.

HELLO NEW YORK

(Dolce Vita jacket, Old Navy sweater- similar, Mimi Chica dress, Hue tights, Steve Madden bag- similar, shoes from Marshalls, Michael Kors watch, other thrifted jewelry)

This weekend has been full of mixed emotions. Happy, excited, sad, overwhelmed.. they have all taken over me. My parents drove me up yesterday to begin my new life here in New York, and they left this afternoon (some tears may have been shed). We spent the morning having coffee in Brooklyn, and I showed them around Union Square because my work is right in that area. This week will be a bit crazy getting all adjusted to everything here. You would think after my many visits to New York, it would be a little easier. It's just not the same. This time I do not have a return trip booked.

My first day of the new job is tomorrow. Wish me luck!

FOREVER FRIENDS

(Michael Kors poncho- similar, Nally & Millie knit dress, Hue tights, vintage Laredo boots, Michael Kors watch, other vintage and thrifted jewelry)

They say that true friends are hard to find, and that is why I am so very blessed to have Brianna as one of my best friends. I spent my morning with her enjoying breakfast and coffee at Cafe Nola before I head off to New York this weekend. Don't think I have told you all that I am moving yet. So.. I will tell you that I am officially moving to NYC! More about that will be showing up on the blog soon. It's such a crazy feeling. Saying see you later (never goodbye) to her was sad, but I know that we will forever be friends. Thank you, Brianna, for being one of the few people I know I can rely on and for cheering me on as I tackle this new journey in life.

VOYAGE TO UTOPIA FASHION SHOW

(vintage dress, Express blazer, Hue tights, Aldo heels, Michael Kors watch, other random jewelry)

This past Saturday was the Voyage to Utopia fashion show at my alma mater, Marymount University. It was a crazy feeling being back on campus there after graduating in December, but it was such an awesome show that I am glad I didn't miss out on. I was super impressed with some of the collections from local DC designers. The students did an incredible job in all aspects of the show, from the stage to the music selection. These are some photos of my favorite looks that came down the runway, and of course what I wore to the show. I found this dress awhile ago while vintage shopping and gave it a little fishtail hem. Totally obsessed now. You can check out my article on Examiner here to learn more about the Voyage to Utopia show. Also, see tons more photos from all the collections in my Facebook album here. Oh, and while you are there make sure to 'like' my new page!
