This past Saturday was the Voyage to Utopia fashion show at my alma mater, Marymount University. It was a crazy feeling being back on campus there after graduating in December, but it was such an awesome show that I am glad I didn't miss out on. I was super impressed with some of the collections from local DC designers. The students did an incredible job in all aspects of the show, from the stage to the music selection. These are some photos of my favorite looks that came down the runway, and of course what I wore to the show. I found this dress awhile ago while vintage shopping and gave it a little fishtail hem. Totally obsessed now. You can check out my article on Examinerhere to learn more about the Voyage to Utopia show. Also, see tons more photos from all the collections in my Facebook album here. Oh, and while you are there make sure to 'like' my new page!

Here are some of my shots from the Refinery 29 and South Moon Under "Let's Holiday" party last night. My friend Carrie joined me, and we enjoyed a night of mingling and shopping. I loved her hot pink tights and headband! The forgetful person I have become left the shoes I originally planned for this outfit at home in MD. Carrie was kind enough to let me raid her closet for a pair of flats. Thanks for saving the day! ;) During the event, my manager sent me on a shopping spree as a thank you for the work I have done interning for them. I ended up with a Free People top and new black sparkly Toms. It made my day and was so very nice of her. Thank you, Taylor and South Moon Under! Cannot believe this semester has already flown by, and it's
almost Christmas!!
Oh, and yesterday was my last day as an undergrad. I now have my BA in Fashion Merchandising! :)
I am so excited to participate in the TOMS Books for Bloggers Program! Yesterday, I came home to a package waiting for me with the stylish TOMS sticker right on the front. Inside were two copies of Blake Mycoskie's new book, Start Something That Matters. One copy is for me to read, and the other I will be giving away to you! The giveaway will last for two weeks, which I will spend reading the book during my metro rides and any other time I find. At the end of the giveaway, I will post the winner as well as a review of what I thought of Start Something That Matters.
3. Write a comment below of what you hope to gain from the book.
Good luck and make sure to check back in two weeks! Also, read below for more info on the book and make sure to
watch the official video.
Love your work, work for what you love, and change the world—all at the same time. What matters most to you? Should you focus on earning a living, pursuing your passions, or devoting yourself to the causes that inspire you? The surprising truth is that you don’t have to choose—and that you’ll find more success if you don’t. That’s the breakthrough message of TOMS’ One for One movement. You don’t have to be rich to give back and you don’t have to retire to spend every day doing what you love. You can find profit, passion, and meaning all at once—right now.
In Start Something That Matters, Blake Mycoskie tells the story of TOMS, one of the fastest-growing shoe companies in the world, and combines it with lessons learned from such other innovative organizations as method, charity: water, FEED Projects, and TerraCycle. Blake presents the six simple keys for creating or transforming your own life and business, from discovering your core story to being resourceful without resources; from overcoming fear and doubt to incorporating giving into every aspect of your life. No matter what kind of change you’re considering, Start Something That Matters gives you the stories, ideas, and practical tips that can help you get started.
Christian's Spring 2012 Collection that he showed at Pink Rocks the Runway was spectacular! My friend, Marcy Brannon of Blue Eyes Curly Qs, and I snapped these photos. Loved the mix of neutrals and neons - amazing. Oh, and check out those tortoise heels! I want a pair for spring already.
